Before the Call
Yes, the patient sessions are anonymous and all data is encrypted. Doxy.me will not know your identity and no patient information is stored persistently. Doxy uses the AES cipher with 128-bit keys to encrypt audio/video, and HMAC-SHA1 to verify data integrity. Doxy is compliant with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) requirements.
In order to ensure that your call will be successful, it is recommended that you
- Restart your computer before your call
- Ensure that your wifi is strong. You can go closer to your wifi router, ensure that no other parties on the network are using up the bandwidth, and you don't have a lot of browser windows open
- Make sure no busy/high intensity programs are running on the computer
